Aspect sees e-commerce boosting orders - Barron's
NEW YORK, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Software company Aspect Development Inc. (Nasdaq:ASDV - news) expects initiatives in electronic commerce to add about $10 million to orders next year and $25 million in 2001, Barron's reported in its Aug. 9 edition.

Only about 50 percent to 60 percent of that will flow to revenues in those years, Barron's said. The company's revenues in the first half of 1999 were down about 7 percent to $35.5 million.

The e-commerce efforts will cost California-based Aspect about $16 million, which may be financed in part through a public offering of the Internet business in the first quarter of 2000, Barron's said.

In July, Aspect reported second quarter income of $326,000, or $0.01 a share, on revenues of $21.2 million compared with income of $3.3 million, or $0.10 a diluted share, on revenues of $20.4 million a year ago.
