H.R. 2488 also will help small businesses by increasing the deduction for health insurance premiums paid by self-employed individuals and by repealing the estate tax.

They are right now but its so confusing its hardly worth it. For a while you could deduct 25% of premiums off the top. I believe this was only premiums... was that right Les? Now thats pretty lame because premiums are all a function of deductible so "medical premium" is an arbitrary amount in a way. The rest goes on schedule A but then there is the 10% limitation. Mathematically speaking, I'm sure a case exists with all these variables where some people are actually worse off taking this deduction.
