Hi Shalom,

How are you?

Here is a thought I had to relate to myself......

Short version of the book of James: "If I say I did have faith in Grace, why would I live as if I didn't?"

Here is a nice "going away" song written by Annie Herring in 1989

THERE'S A STIRRING

There's a stirring deep within me,
Could it be my time has come?
When I see my Gracious Savior,
Face to face when all is done.

Is that His voice I am hearing,
Come away my precious one.
Is He calling me?
IS HE CALLING ME?

I will rise up! rise up!
Then I'll bow down
and lay my crown,
at His precious wounded feet!

I will rise up! rise up!
Then I'll bow down
and lay my crown,
at His precious wounded feet!

God bless.

dan

><>...satan is a LIAR...><>

1 Thessalonians 2:18

Since the first hour in which goodness came into conflict with evil, it has never ceased to be true in spiritual experience, that Satan hinders us. From all points of the compass, all along the line of battle, in the vanguard and in the rear, at the dawn of day and in the midnight hour, Satan hinders us. If we toil in the field, he seeks to break the ploughshare; if we build the wall, he labours to cast down the stones; if we would serve God in suffering or in conflict?everywhere Satan hinders us. He hinders us when we are first coming to Jesus Christ. Fierce conflicts we had with Satan when we first looked to the cross and lived. Now that we are saved, he endeavours to hinder the completeness of our personal character. You may be congratulating yourself, I have hitherto walked consistently; no man can challenge my integrity.? Beware of boasting, for your virtue will yet be tried; Satan will direct his engines against that very virtue for which you are the most famous.

If you have been hitherto a firm believer, your faith will ere long be attacked; if you have been meek as Moses, expect to be tempted to speak unadvisedly with your lips. The birds will peck at your ripest fruit, and the wild boar will dash his tusks at your choicest vines. Satan is sure to hinder us when we are earnest in prayer. He checks our importunity, and weakens our faith in order that, if possible, we may miss the blessing. Nor is Satan less vigilant in obstructing Christian effort. There was never a revival of religion without a revival of his opposition. As soon as Ezra and Nehemiah begin to labour, Sanballat and Tobiah are stirred up to hinder them.

What then? We are not alarmed because Satan hindereth us, for it is a proof that we are on the Lord?s side, and are doing the Lord?s work, and in his strength we shall win the victory, and triumph over our adversary.
Spurgeon, Charles

><>...I will praise the LORD no matter what happens!...><>

Psalm 34
34 I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of his glories and grace.
2I will boast of all his kindness to me. Let all who are discouraged take heart.
3Let us praise the Lord together and exalt his name.
4For I cried to him and he answered me! He freed me from all my fears.
5Others too were radiant at what he did for them. Theirs was no downcast look of rejection!
6This poor man cried to the Lord?and the Lord heard him and saved him out of his troubles.
7For the Angel of the Lord guards and rescues all who reverence him.
8Oh, put God to the test and see how kind he is! See for yourself the way his mercies shower down on all who trust in him.
9If you belong to the Lord, reverence him; for everyone who does this has everything he needs.
10Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those of us who reverence the Lord will never lack any good thing.
11Sons and daughters, come and listen and let me teach you the importance of trusting and fearing the Lord.
12Do you want a long, good life?
13Then watch your tongue! Keep your lips from lying.
14Turn from all known sin and spend your time in doing good. Try to live in peace with everyone; work hard at it.
15For the eyes of the Lord are intently watching all who live good lives, and he gives attention when they cry to him.
16But the Lord has made up his mind to wipe out even the memory of evil men from the earth.
17Yes, the Lord hears the good man when he calls to him for help and saves him out of all his troubles.
18The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking; he rescues those who are humbly sorry for their sins.
19The good man does not escape all troubles?he has them too. But the Lord helps him in each and every one.
20Not one of his bones is broken.
21Calamity will surely overtake the wicked; heavy penalties are meted out to those who hate the good.
22But as for those who serve the Lord, he will redeem them; everyone who takes refuge in him will be freely pardoned.

Thank you Father for you most blessed word

><>...Jesus our LORD and Saviour...><>

Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, 33and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.
34?So don?t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.

5-6When Jesus arrived in Capernaum, a Roman army captain came and pled with him to come to his home and heal his servant boy who was in bed paralyzed and racked with pain.
7?Yes,? Jesus said, ?I will come and heal him.?
8-9Then the officer said, ?Sir, I am not worthy to have you in my home; and it isn?t necessary for you to come. If you will only stand here and say, ?Be healed,? my servant will get well! I know, because I am under the authority of my superior officers and I have authority over my soldiers, and I say to one, ?Go,? and he goes, and to another, ?Come,? and he comes, and to my slave boy, ?Do this or that,? and he does it. And I know you have authority to tell his sickness to go?and it will go!?
10Jesus stood there amazed! Turning to the crowd he said, ?I haven?t seen faith like this in all the land of Israel!
11And I tell you this, that many Gentiles like this Roman officer, shall come from all over the world and sit down in the Kingdom of Heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
12And many an Israelite?those for whom the Kingdom was prepared?shall be cast into outer darkness, into the place of weeping and torment.?
13Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, ?Go on home. What you have believed has happened!? And the boy was healed that same hour!
14When Jesus arrived at Peter?s house, Peter?s mother-in-law was in bed with a high fever.
15But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her; and she got up and prepared a meal for them!
16That evening several demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus; and when he spoke a single word, all the demons fled; and all the sick were healed.
17This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, ?He took our sicknesses and bore our diseases.?
