As a long-termer now, I have to say that NITE at 36 is a great buy. Damn, the thing has a PE of something like 20 based on the last quarter. And the growth rate is nevertheless substantial.

I know, there is a lot of upheaval in the markets about ECNs, uncertainty about what the landscape will look like one year from now.

But look at the NASDQ volume YTD in 1998 versus YTD in 1999. It is up some 50% (from 100 Billion in 1998 YTD to 150 Billion in 1999 YTD). I gotta believe that NASDQ volume YTD in 2000 will show an increase over 1999. And that means more revenues for the MMs. I keep reminding myself that NITE already is putting systems in place to handle 5 times the current volume. Doesn't that mean growth?

Also, by this time in 2000, won't we be looking at an electronic options exchange, with NITE playing a significant role? And perhaps some greater injection of Euro volume, what with EASDAQ?

I'll just have to be patient for now. But I don't see why this company shouldn't command a significantly higher share price in the years ahead. Perhaps I'll hold until two splits from now (which, hopefully, won't be reverse splits).
