Bill, it pays to be nimble with options. if i get a quick profit, i always take it. there's always a chance to move back into an option on the same stock/index at a later stage. what's more, i have always hedged index shorts running alongside everything else i do so i won't miss out if a big decline comes out of the blue. of course i reposition those also from time to time when it seems opportune and the strategy has served me well so far. in this market, due to it's extreme overvaluation, a big upset once a year is perfectly normal and need not necessarily destroy the longer term bull market. looking back at recent years, the corrections seem to get bigger every year. the next one should be highly interesting....

regards,
