Gary,

I agree with your YHOO analysis, good points & nice work. Except for the next to last line - I've seen much, much tougher markets than this! I've been at short-term trading for 6 years, and trust me trading this market is like a cakewalk compared to some periods in that interval. One of the big tricks is to learn when to stay flat. This is a great time for that, unless you're very nimble - either a scalper or a seasoned swing trader.

I think of it like this. I'm flat - think of all the money that the investors are losing here, that they're going to have to set in their stocks to make back! So relatively, I'm doing a lot better than all those guys - that's almost as good as making a pile of money. And I'll come back in when things settle down and ride em' back up, boosting returns.

Of course, that being said I am scalping and swing trading in here with a bias to the short side for quick gains but very, very cautiously with a bias to going back to being flat a good part of the time. It's a little wicked all right! NOT LOSING is the key here. There are a lot of periods in the market like that, and once I learned to recognize them, things got a lot better.
