You know Glenn, it's amazing how fleeting genius is. For so long, those of us who questioned the valuations of these
stocks looked like idiots, cement heads, small thinkers, etc. I was starting to believe it. Now you have very astute
investors, who sell a stock for valuation reasons at 40, and buy it back 4 months later for close to 200, and average
down on the decline.

I was feeling just like you explained it. An idiot who just does not get it.

Now all of the sudden, the arguments of the new paradigm guys sound hollow, hopeful, speculative and disingenious.
Even the bull analysts are circling the wagons around 3 names: AOL, YHOO and AMZN. (I've noticed EBAY hasn't been
mentioned lately)

Not only EBAY but I have not heard the words "new paradigm" in a long time.

hose who now say that this was a speculative bubble, don't sound so stupid.

Those of us that stayed short without cutting losses sure feel stupid<G>

From The Street Life:

"LETTER TO JOHN DOERR.... (Or, I'm in a bashing way
today.) Everybody likes John Doerr. I like John Doerr.
How can you not like Johnny D? But I have a bone to
pick with you, John. You have really become isolated
and insular out there on Sand Hill. I don't know if
it's you, or your handlers. But call up and try to
get through and the assistant practically can't
believe that anyone would actually want to speak to
John the Great. And it's not just me, lowly journalist,
saying this, John. This is some big wingnuts in the
Valley, too. (Notice how I'm sort of contradicting what
I said about Atlas above!) So I called up your office
the other day and asked if you could speak to me for
five minutes ANY TIME OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS about a
subject that I understand you consider to be important--
and that you are involved in! (And remember we know
each other, too!) The response? "Oh no, he's much too
busy." Well okay, you win some, you lose some. But then
I saw something that made me mad! Next day, I happen to
notice that Martha Stewart is going public. And I see
that Kleiner Perkins is the VC! And then I see John is
going on the board!! Holy Crow!! You have hours and
hours for Martha and not even five minutes for me?!
(Regarding this certain subject, and you know what I'm
talking about!) I'm sorry, John, but that just rubs me
the wrong way. Now let's see what kind of a guy you
are! Can you take the heat?!? Will you get back to me?!
Will you have a sense of humor about this? (You should!)
Give me a call sometime, John."
