Dan 2 + 1 - Re: "But if AMD does get some production out of Dresden starting in November, what can Intel do? "

AMD has many times stated that Dresden will not be delivering production 0.18 micron Copper K7's from Dresden until "the first half" of year 2000.

And here you are wishin' and hopin' and assumin' that Dresden - whose Plant Manger just upped and QUIT - is going to pull a miracle out of the fire and deliver these in November !

Dream on, sucker.

Paul

Dan 9/3 - Re: "Push Coppermine out to January in the hope that they'll beat AMD to 1 GHZ?"

If you re-read the recent articles about Intel's Coppermine, I think you'll get the message that Intel is now "pulling in" the Coppermine schedule from the "slipped" date of November.

Re: "What if AMD ships 1GHZ parts in January? "

You have all these wonderful futuristic success stories for AMD and the laughALON. Don't you think it would be prudent to wait and see when any laughALON of ANY SPEED gets into the PC marketplace?
