Intel buying AMD....

Now that is intriguing. As a few of you know, I have a shirttail relative at Intel (in the admin side, not the engineering side) and we were visiting a week or so ago about the VIA challenge presented by purchase of Cyrix. My cous pointed out that, in his personal opinion, the best thing that could ever happen to Intel is for a ton of money to appear behind one of its two competitors....thereby making it fair game for them to "target" the other without government intervention. He seemed particularly delighted about the ton of money being foreign money.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see Intel totally consolidate the high end processor market. Wonder if it is legally possible, cause it is sure financially possible.
