Yes, I think I am changing my view since I am feeling old with my bunch of ATHM stocks. I am seeing problems that I previously refused to acknowledge. During this downturn I have been adding shares. You can say I am a fool averaging down. I've made mistakes averaging down a losing company before. But I don't think I am making a mistake this time.
In my mind I can't imagine a future withoug ATHM playing a big part. From the talks of TJ and GB, I do believe that these 2 guys knows what they are facing with, and what they should accomplish to solve the problems. The problems of ATHM are none that they can't overcome. Everyday I am evaluating the risks involved with this company. The conclusion I reached is that this company is not like another Netscape or Novell or AMD. The reason being that its barrier of entry (cable infrastructure) and the strong backing. Monopoly is not the real barrier of entry, technical knowhow of ATHM is their real protection.
The failure of Netscape and the likes is caused by lack of barrier of entry. MSFT duplicated the browser business and instantly killed NSCP. Same applied to Novell and AMD. But ask yourself, who knows cable modem business better than ATHM? So far none!

I am very positive about this company. If this company is going to fail the management must screw up real badly. I don't think that will be the case.
