I guess my point is that these firms should be offering the training free as part of their service. I imagine it won't belong before they do.

Can you imagine the typical "pitch" to a potential franchisee of one of these firms?...." Yes, people come to you and pay YOU $3,000 for training on how to use the your service, then they pay you $15 bucks a trade. The typical trader can trade as many as 50 - 100 times a day. That means that typical trader is generating $750 x 250 days =$187,000 in commissions. If you can land 50 traders you'll be making 35% of $9 million. Now imagine if you can land 100 or 200 traders??As long as you keep the seats full you'll make a killing. Now remember the key is to "train" them to scalp..you'll never make money from swing or position traders"

< It is for that final polishing, that final bit of extra security gained by having experienced traders around. >

Be sure to differentiate between "experienced" traders and "successful" traders as they're not necessarily the same and gravitate toward the latter. The comraderie at an office can be a positive but you need to trade your style and not get sucked into trades when another trader yells out "XYZ is moving". If you use TA, stick to it don't get caught up in another traders excitement or emotions.

Dear Oz:

I noticed in your posts that you swing trade using TA. What combinations of indicators have you found that give the best signals for entry and exit? Right now I am using only MACD and Stochastics. The problem I have is the signals
can be different when you look at each time period 5min, 15min, 60min, day. What do you use for screening potential trade candidates quickly enough to jump on them or do you just follow a family of stocks waiting for signals?
