80% of homes passed in 2003. 82 million homes passed.

at 4.7% (sub/passed) = 3.85 million users.

assume subs/passed approaches the ratio of
(online households)/(Total households), adjusted for 2003 projections, we get: 45% (sub/passed) = 36.9 Million users.

In 2003 the 46.3 million online households will be split between cable, dial up (including dsl), and wireless. Cable and wireless will dominate unless the RBOC's start laying fiber to the home.
