The warrants were issued pursuant to a private placement of units on May 5, 1999, and were exercisable at $1.93 each. The proceeds from the exercise of the warrants will be used for general corporate purposes and for continuing exploration both on the Teck-Western joint venture properties and other Mexican exploration properties held by Western outside of the joint venture.
