How so? Why less of a hassle? Do you mean that the order and installation process is better with TCI?

Before I got @Home I had ISDN from US West for over two years and I went through "living nightmares" with US Worst on the billing. No sense in going into those details but when DSL came along I thought they might just have gotten their act together, they haven't at least for some people including my brother who has gone through a billing nightmare! They overcharged him to the tune of nearly a thousand dollars and even shut his phone down. After many months and my advice to contact our public service's commission he got it straightened out. I had to also go the the PSC to get US West to bill me correctly on ISDN. I'm aware of many other US West horror stories.

His DSL has worked well for the most part but according to my son who was at his Condo when the install was done it was not straight forward. The install tech had some problems but did manage to get it working. You can also have problems with cable installation but I must say mine was a breeze!

Another thing about DSL is that when you call the phone company and ask them to sign you up they basically tell you not so quick. You have to go through a line qualification process and there are no guarantees you'll get the service.
I'll tell you this -- I hate dealing with them bastards! They have literally put my life in misery in the past!

I have had problems with cable T.V in the past but I will say that my ordering of @Home went very smooth and the install was a snap. They didn't have to "qualify" my cable line they came out and did an install. My experience puts the cable guys way ahead of them morons at the phone company. I may sound bitter but please understand I went through hell with them.

BTW, my cable service at first had outages and I have kept track with a log book. In the last month it has become very reliable and I no longer have my dial up ISP. It appears that when they upgrade neighborhoods the service can be a little unreliable at first but they seem to get the bugs worked out. And I just love the speed!

Thanks for the link!
