Any cyber ethicists out there care to comment on this exchange between me and Richard Gilder?

Hello:

Subscribers pay $295 for the privilage of reading the GTR and you have
essentially given it away to the mass of people on Yahoo. We request that
you do not do this in the future, as the report was read by many people who
did not earn the privilage to do so by paying.

Thanks,

If I found a wallet stuffed with 100$ bills in it I would try to find the
wallet's owner. You probably feel I did the cyber-equivalent of throwing
them to the breeze.

In my defense, you should note:

1. I was not the first to post the news of your feature article on GSTRF and
Loral. That was done by a poster LT_12 on the Yahoo Loral thread Post
17929.

2. When I saw his note, I visited your web site (for the first time-I am not
a subscriber), saw the material there, and posted the URLs for your home
page and for the August issue.

3. In visiting the site briefly, it was clear that some pages were for
"subscribers only," some were free. The August issue appeared to be among
the latter. I suppose I could have dropped an E-mail "hey, GTR, did you mean
to password protect this article, and do you mind if I advertise your URL on
a few bulletin boards" but I didn't. Sorry.

Though your article is well written and reaches sound conclusions, there's
very little if any information there was not already well known by informed GSTRF/LOR
shareholders. Lehman Bros and CEUT to name two well known analysts have
long published similar analyses and posted them on public web sites. BTW,
your article has a few errors, too, concerning G* coverage and pricing
advantages w.r.t. Iridium.

In future, I hope GTR will take better care of what it considers it's
intellectual property and suggest you offer your subscribers a month's
rebate.

Best regards,
