Qdog, people go to the government to get Richard Bliss out because that's what the government is for. Security, law, private property protection. That sort of stuff. I don't recall anyone saying we could function without a government - it would be just gangster rulz. No fun at all. That was tried for about a million years. Still is in some places. Same for patent protection and 3G. You can't have everyone using spectrum anytime they like and just shouting over the rest. It needs either rules of the road [you can use spectrum which is not being used at the time] or allocation. George Gilder is a fan of the 'use it if it isn't being used' persuasion [I think that's the idea] with rules for how it's used. Chrysler bludging off the taxpayer is another thing altogether. Seems to me it could have been sold off to GM, Toyota or whoever who would use the bits of it that were useful and ditch the rest. As you say, big biz will bludge off government if they can possibly get away with it. So will little biz, women, people with lots of melanin, crippled people, old people, sick people, sports people, lawyers, religious people and all sorts. Linux sounds like a revolution of the proletariat. A 1999 liberation of the Bastille. Mao for the worker, with his Red Hat and Little Red Book. Beware the Red Hat! Just like the French Revolution, it won't be long before somebody like Napoleon co-opts Linux for his own benefit. Mqurice
