Bobby,

The way you will know that Clinton is no longer running for something will be when he is tucked in for a "dirt nap" Arkansas style.

Regards
Homer

< How can our gov't government support a country that has policies so different than ours >

China is the biggest market in the world, a potential source of immense profits for US Multi- National Corporations as we move into the 21st century. I know it sounds superficial and plastic in a way. But Money has always talked and will continue to talk in US Society. On the other hand, it's in nobody's interest in the western world, whether your conservative, moderate or liberal to have China revert back to the policies of Mao.

China is the Mother. Taiwan is the rebellious child. The rebellious child eventually comes back to its Mother, like Hong Kong did- in spite of how capitalistic they are. You can disagree with your mother's principles and values. You can argue and fight with your mother day and night; but she gave birth to you and ultimately you have to get her to respect you as an individual with different values. Taiwan belongs with its mother and will return; but Taiwan should not be forced to return against its will. A mutual agreement will be worked out eventually someday, preserving Taiwan's democratic gov't.
