*Windows2000 and Hooray for our hero $ill* Greg, here are some comments on Windows2000 from a happy user:

----------------------------------------------------------
Windows 2000 allows input in up to 60 languages in all applications (notepad, wordpad, office apps etc.) I think the Beta version I am using only offers 12, but Japanese, Chinese (simplified and traditional) and Korean are already included, and I am VERY impressed with the product. By far the best Japanese input and viewing on an English OS I have seen to date. Of course my notebook with Japanese windows 98 is better for the Japanese, but it is not as stable as Windows 2000 and doesn't have fax etc!! However, in windows 2000 it is still not possible to intsall 'double byte' software such as Japanese word. Although character support is now unicode based it doesn't appear to be THAT integrated into the OS?

It seems to me that Microsoft invents a lot of stuff. They don't have 20,000 software engineers and other people sitting round counting the money. They are writing code and stuff. They are doing all sorts of things.
