Leave it to the ACTV thread to take extremely positive news and turn into something negative. I guess that instead of launching around October 15th as planned TV Guide is going to wait until next year for their commercial launch.

Think before you post. There are so many things happening. The sports category itself can be broken down into several categories. For example, AT&T is part of a JV(Viewer's Choice) offering PPV packages. Then you have horse racing, the FSN regionals, LMG/IATV PPV Events etc. They are not going to launch them all at the same time. Why would they test FSN+ SW when it has been tested for over a year.

Stay tight everybody ACTV is going to play a huge part in all of this. I realize the wait is frustrating but the reward will be worth it.

I think its great. It appears ACTV will be the backbone of T's interactive cable foray. ACTV can do all that they (T) mentioned.
Don't confuse T's timetable with ACTV's many other business endeavors and partnerships. Each has their own timetable.

Of course T may want to do it on a grand scale.

Charlie,

"With commercial availability of General Instrument's DCT-5000 set-top to come this fall, early interactive TV tests should come in 2000's first quarter with commercial launches later in the year, Priddy notes."

As stated AT&T is planning new services around the DCT-5000 set-top, which will have HyperTV resident. It has nothing to do with Fox Sports current Individualized Television that currently is integrated into the DCT 1000, 1200 and 2000.

I believe that Fox Sports will be rolling out some time 4th QTR, after TVG launches Oct 15. And HyperTV two box solution should launch with the BOX in September.
