They are alarming only to an alarmist mentality. 1. Glaciers have melted and refrozen throughout time. In fact, there is strong evidence the Earth has shifted and the geographical poles have changed numerous times in the past billions of years, all without the interference of Mankind. "The Earth is a fragile planet" craziness started after the Apollo astronauts took that famous photo of the world in space. It somehow drove home to idiots that never thought about it before that we are living on the surface of a planet. The Earth is much more robust than Environmentalists would have people believe. 2. Droughts are also cyclical Want great historical drought and climate change? Look at the Gobi and Sahara deserts. 3. Forest fires are part of the ecological system and needed for forests to exist. Most are started by lightening. 4. Rain forests will not be decimated completely and new oxygen manufacturing plants are being developed. 5. Skin cancer is caused by many more fair-skinned Northern people having much more leisure time living or traveling to Southern climes where their genetics cannot handle increased sunlight. 6. Ozone layer cycles too. It ebbs and flows. 7. All "concrete indicators" indicate nothing more than a.) the continuing historical pattern of Earth's climate, and b.) that there are hundreds of millions of dollars up for grabs to those scientists willing to jump on the federal bandwagon and create politicized "scientific" reports from massaged data. They know they can fool you and millions like you through important sounding studies, fear campaigns and strongly worded warnings. The alarming things I read are, instead, scientific articles about glaciers melting, droughts, forest fires, the rain forests being destroyed, the increased rate of diseases like skin cancer, the measurable disappearance of the ozone layer, and other concrete indicators of global warming. None of these things are "vastly inflated", and are, in fact, facts.
