You can get the extension, although it is getting pretty late in the game and you won't know if you are all square with the Service until you are screwed if they deny it. That is why I threw in the volcano biz - I think that excuse is a sure fire winner. He, he he.

Just buckle down and do it. If worse comes to worst, and you are faced with not filing in time, just file the return with liberal estimates (in gov't favor) and amend later. If you are going to do some sort of half assed cover job like this, go see a CPA on Monday to cover all the issues so you know where you stand.

Rambi try Quicken I use it. It has it's drawbacks but it is fine with me for several trades a day.

Then you can extract it in their turbotax it works very well.

How to track trades - here's what I do:

- Use Quicken 99
- Create broker / stock accounts (I've got 6 different ones)
- Post each trade (in and out) to Quicken in "real time"
- Reconcile first against the download I get from Waterhouse
- Reconcile second against my monthly printed statements
- Use Quicken to generate reports my accountant uses to do my taxes

Updates of prices into Quicken provides an as-often-as-you-care-to-know portfolio value, too.

Good luck with Uncle Sam.
