IRT "C*/Data" and linking up with an ISP are you referring to the cache market or direct to customer service? It would seem to me that the cache market would make a nice fit for satellite data. The same service could be marketed to every ISP. Don't mean to dwell on this but I just stumbled on the topic and have been intrigued by the possibilities for Loral.

Wow! Great post Valueman, very informative. I must admit, I had to re-read it several times and I am still a little glassy-eyed. One thing is very obvious, we need T7! Your concerns on Cyberstar are also right on. I have been wondering why we haven't heard anything about that too. I hope something does come out of the Palo Alto conf. Now for a naive question, I assume there is a finite number of strategic orbitel slots. How finite is that number and how many unused slots does Loral hold if any?

Outstanding post V-man: thanks very much. Maybe I'm just missing the point, but be patient. It has been clear for some time that SatMex is, in your elegant phrase, sucking wind. [Remember when we all celebrated the "win" of these birds and slots? LOR was up a few points a day for a while; seems like two decades ago]
Are you REALLY saying that nobody has a clue as to why? I understand that the recession in Mexico is broad and deep; and South America ain't looking too spiff either. Isn't it just that straightforward?
Is it really so hard for LOR to flat out admit that demand is weak? We all know Bernard plays it very close to the vest, but it would appear to me to be quite clear UNLESS there's a more subtle move on the chess board that we don't see.
Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks again, Mike
