Url - First of all, I want you to know that I intend to spend some time checking out your site thoroughly. It looks terrific at a quick glance. The Internet advertising model may work for killpopradio, and I wish you luck. KOOP's problem is that there are a vast number of health information sites (with more coming all the time), and the limited number of different ways to present the information makes it difficult for a site to differentiate itself from the competition. A strong brand name helps, but when a site like StayHealthy.com, for example, unveils its proprietary features like home-based diagnostic testing and wellness monitoring over the Internet, with NO competition, they will have a captive audience that can get its information at the same site without bothering to go to drkoop. The current skirmish with ADAM is another good example of the difficulty KOOP will continue to have in trying to distinguish itself from the other providers of free information. The TV networks are a different story because, unlike the hundreds of health websites, there are only 3, or 4, or 6 networks depending on whether you count Fox and the other 2 also-rans. (I have a hard time not stopping with CBS/NBC/ABC when I count.) Even with the rise of cable channels and the Internet, TV networks' audiences remain huge by comparison. Also, people tend to watch TV passively, and advertisers know that most will at least "half-listen to" commercials. If you saw the statistics on how few visitors to drkoop actually click on the ads, however, you might be amazed. Again, good luck with your site. Regards- Eric
