Re: may propel Intel into a totally different orbit. I agree with every thing that you said in that post. Especially that, right now, AMD is a one trick pony. OTOH, can you estimate a percentage of Intel's profits that are from its CPU/Chipset/Motherboard business? The incredible profitability of Intel may not be quite so diversified, though it is qualitatively more diversified than AMD. Paul - RE: "The year 2000 will have a host of other products that may propel Intel into a totally different orbit from AMD." That doesn't preclude AMD from winning at the same time as Intel. Pluto goes around the Sun just like Uranus does.
