I've always felt that given Cohen's outlook for AMZN, the appropriate ML rating should have been a 5-5 (Sell/Sell) rather than a 4-3 (Reduce/Neutral). A 4-3 really doesn't look that bad when you consider that Intel was rated 3-3 at the time.

I also thought that it was inconceivable for Cohen to be so negative on AMZN yet so positive on N2K. Last summer, he gave NTKI a 2-1 (Accumulate/Buy) rating and described it as follows:

"Unlike many other online vendors selling essentially commodity products, we believe that N2K possesses a meaningful advantage in the form of proprietary content and community."

He started coverage at around $20 and dropped it at around $5 when the merger with CDNow was announced.
