Yardeni is the High Hosannah of Y2K nuclear winter fear mongering. Why won't his site disappear, like all others on 1/1/00? Actually, there are some pre-epoch dates, like 12/8/99, I think, when things also get hosed, because those forward looking OS/360 programmers (NOT) all tried to save 8 bits every time they coded a year date into a program.

I prefer Gartner Group's Y2K opinions, especially since they've been the pre-eminent big iron consultants for 30 years. What's Yardeni's background?
