Chucka;

The 1998 ASARCO annual report lists 169.9 millions tons at 0.38% Cu as reserves at Silver Bell. So, one could envision that similar grade material in the area could possibly be economic --- if stripping ratios, leach recovery, etc. were favorable. The current low copper price may not support capital costs of a new mine, but a large tonnage of near-surface leach material grading >0.30% Cu would be normally be of interest to major mining companies --- unless it were in an area of high environmental or political concern.
