"While we do not know that global warming caused these disasters" That's the key phrase right there. In most cases people are living where these things always happened. Now that there are buildings and people there it is a "disaster". What we DO know is given free reign, the government will restrict more personal freedoms and waste billions, perhaps TRILLIONS of dollars amassing more power to "forestall" something that likely does not even exist. It only works because a majority of the people are even more stupid than the government.
