ratan, just as a practical exercise, and totally unbiased by any y2k pro or con speech, i suggest you look for some specifics in your hometown in the following manner.

take a half day of vacation, or sick leave time and enroll, (usually $10 fee) in the health department sponsored/staffed 'Food Handler's Class'

Then come back and tell this thread what you learned about the necessities for copious amounts of water and for 'accumulated sewage' you just poohpoohed in you post requesting information.

hepatitis 'A' will just be ONE of your worries, 01/01/00. it will definitely have your attention 01/15/00

i'm serious. could be the most eye-popping y2k readiness class you'll ever attend. and life saving too, if you think that you or anyone you love MIGHT be incarcerated in one of those FEMA/RED CROSS shelters john hunt writes about.

just $10 and 1/2 a day, ratan. i double dog dare you!
p.s. there is usually a written exam (multiple choice) of 40 questions at the end of the 3 hour intensive just to see if you nodded off during the session.

oh, and good luck!!!!
