Bill: Re Jan1st
By 12 noon on Dec 31st the first real "news" of YR2K will start filtering in from Asia, followed by Europes "problems" at about 4 pm.
Every newsman and lawyer is laying for this one, whatever happens anywhere gets initially blamed on the computers and chips. Train wrecks in India, traffic jams on the Autobahn.
Enormous Web traffic. Might as well forget the brokers after noon, probably can't get through. In fact the NYSE closes at 1 pm on Friday the 31.st. The good news is its not an options Friday.
Good luck with your computer(G)

<< My son and family will get together on New Years Eve....and at about 1 minute after midnight, we will turn his computer on. He agreed to that. I agreed to pop the champagne cork!>>

Bill: I don't expect that you'll have too many problems celebrating on New Years. On the other hand, I may get my camping ready (just in case Sig shuts the lights out on us <G> ).

Best Regards,

Scott

BTW: Y2K is one of those impending 'disasters' that we've had years to plan for. IMO, North America should be in pretty good shape. Things won't be perfect on 1/1/00 but we'll survive. I'm not planning to fly to a 3rd world country on the first day of the new century though...it won't hurt to use some good judgement..!!
