You can buy Office97 which includes Word and Excel and other stuff for $25 on EBAY (but make sure you buy in a "Dutch" auction from a seller with excellent credentials).

Oh yes you will. The Office suite is not cheap. I won't touch the ..if it will work...part.

If you can hold off, you might want to check out online auction sites for software such as Word by itself. You'll pay much less, and won't be stuck with the entire bundle. Only problem is...you'll have to wait a couple of weeks to get it.

Otherwise...might as well check out CompUSA and see what they have. Hopefully you'll pick up strictly MS Word...and not the whole Office package.
