Usually, it is hotter and drier on the eastern side of Cascade Mountains. I don't know what kind of weather they have now but it has been dry here. The days have been mild though.

There are micro-climates in Washington & Oregon. These areas tend to have less rainfall. I don't know why.

I live in my own little micro-climate here. It is hotter here than it is in other areas. I let my clay pots sit outside in the winter. A crack is rare. A friend who used to live in another part of the city, but not that far away, would complain when her clay pots would crack in the winter.
