<<<Since we are on the verge of creating our own evolution, who is to say we just won't evolve ourselves to adapt to any climate condition until we have total weather control? >>>

Lather has already given the only response possible to this cruelly callow albeit grandiose speculation.

The hidden ugly little truth is that the mechanism by which man adapts is by attrition of the less-than-perfectly strong. Man adapts. People don't.

<I remember the debate that raged in the 60s about overpopulation and the "many expert
scientists" who all gravely agreed that there would be a worldwide famine by the early
1990s and billions would die of starvation.>

Have you visited Africa lately, outside of Iman and her friends? Do you ever read news reports? In fact, there is overpopulation, millions of people DO die of starvation, and the dreadful sanitary conditions and compromised health created by overpopulation has contributed to the AIDS epidemic in the third world, which is devastating the population.

What part of reality don't you understand!
