Big Bull:

Slider batting fifty/fifty here. He was right about small cap E&P outperformance. But he and Gary were wrong about a sharp correction in the OSX.

Looks like the OSX will make it to the low 90s in this move before pulling back again. Former resistance area in low 80s will serve as strong support on the next pullback. Might or might not hold depending upon how badly market drops this fall. But the worst I can see is the mid 70s even if the Dow goes below 9000 as I expect.

MAVK CEO has some interesting things to say about drilling in the second half of THIS year. From the latest quarterly report:

"We are encouraged by recent increases in oil and gas prices, the primary drivers of demand for our energy products. Oil and gas prices are well above those levels used in formulating the producers' 1999 drilling plans, and with significant portions of their budgets yet to be spent, we believe that drilling activity can increase during the last half of the year."

Boom 2000 will begin in '99. Imo don't wait until 2000 or you will miss the party. When there are over 300 rigs drilling in GOM, Slider can have ALL my FLC shares, Razorbak too. <g>
