I don't know if any of you guys do OTCBB's or not but if you do, I've got a website that gives out pretty good picks.

If you go to Island's web page you can get free Java driven real time Island Level II quotes !

Do any other ECNs offer this data for free in real time ?

Thanks

Carl,
WOW!
I've never seen that compact and at the same time comprehensive review of trading basics put together.
Will recommend reading this post to chatroom newbies tomorrow.
Great job!

Thank you bilow. That is the most concise thorough explanation I've seen of how the market works and what daytrading is.

I enjoyed your long and thoughtful post and thought this passage was especially insightful:

In fact, all highly-rewarded occupations have a high wash-out rate. How many high school graduates go to college with the intention of becoming doctors? How many kids try out for football with the intention of playing for the NFL? How many people play in amateur rock and roll bands?

I agree that becoming a successful trader requires years of hard work and dedication just like becoming a doctor, professional athlete, or musician. The thing that makes being a trader harder than any of those other occupations is the necessary struggle to master your emotions which all successful trading hinges on. This explains the high "wash-out rate," which you peg at 95%, but I believe probably exceeds 98% (a quibble I know ;-) ).
