Drilling"

Previous operators and Cancor had based their exploration efforts
on an assumed north-south strike direction. Based on a
re-evaluation of the Quebec government airborne magnetic data
released in 1995, Noront has determined that the favourable
felsic volcanic package extends northwest through the recently
staked property. Felsic volcanics have also been located on a
property held by Falconbridge immediately to the west.

Noront has received approval for a Quebec Mineral Exploration
Assistance Program grant of $50,000. Noront is preparing to
undertake an exploration and drilling program budgeted at
approximately $120,000. Noront is negotiating the additional
financing of the work through agreements between Noront and a
private Ontario company.
