Interesting article..... but IMO, a bandwidth glut is
a figment(or filament <g>) of someone's imagination.
When construction began, the L.A. highway system was
going to be capable of handling traffic "well beyond
the year 2000."

How much money have the Baby Bell's pumped into upgrading
every switching station several times in the last five
years as we went from 300 baud (yeah, I remember 300 baud),to 1200, 2400, 9600 , etc etc etc.?

My point is, to paraphrase one of Murphy's laws, "information will expand to occupy the bandwidth available."

Granted, the more available, the cheaper the price gets.
I doubt anyone is still paying $400.00 a month for 56.6k,
which was the going rate not That long ago. So, IMO, the
question becomes not if LVLT will be able to sell all their
bandwidth, but what will the rate be & how does that effect
the amount of time it takes to recover their investment?

Best Regards,

Doug
