The maximum a holder of MQP can receive at maturity is QUALCOMM Incorporated Common Stock worth $3,093.34 per Reset PERQS

Why cap your upside? Not in growth stock for 7% return, taxable in non qualified accounts

This looks somewhat like a derivative type of security, where you trade some of the intrinsic growth in QCOM stock for a guaranteed 7% interest payment, but no guaranteed payback of principal. I'd have to look more closely at this, but it seems that the purchaser would be trading away a part of the growth potential of the common stock without reducing the risk inherent in the common.
