Christine, as I say, I do not precisely have an opinion, I am merely dredging up the full controversy. I am in no position to resolve it. Anyway, you are quite wrong that it is the opinion of one person only, you must read the whole sequence of posts. No one is disputing that there has been ground warming, only the ultimate meaning of it. The modeling that has been done on the issue has been wrong on many key points over the decade, and therefore it is even less certain what we should expect. No one denies that. After that, it is a matter of political judgment, and I have an opinion about that, which is that drastic restrictions in greenhouse gases, such as would cripple economic development, would be an excessive response, and itself do palpable harm to the Third World....
