Be sure and take plenty of reading material with you to the hospital. Take any and all phone #'s you might need. Sometimes there are 3 hour periods where nothing is happening. Well, not to us sperm donors. During one of our births I ran out the door and all I had packed to read was my 20 year old copy of 'Texas Rivers and Rapids'. I'll always remember it. Lampasas river, Leon river, Little river, ....they're alphabetical. Be ready to speed dial all the concerned parties since you don't want the first person you call to dial others before you get down the list to them. Hurt feelings can result. People who love you are very sensitive about such things...strangely enough it's their baby too! Keep your wife safe from any and all nursing students who enter the room wearing a glove wanting to "check on her". Tell them the lab rats are down the hall.
