I've been using a 10-day EMA versus 40-day EMA crossover (as the setting for the price phase indicator) for my mutual funds and mutual fund average (40 leading no-load growth funds) for intermediate-term timing. It gave its first sell signal on August 4 since the October 26, 1998 buy signal. All of the major indexes have given sell signals in the past week and a half. In the corrections in February and May, one or two averages gave sell signals but not the Dow.
