Did you buy L & F or just try it with the trial version?

It worked well for me on a drive that I mistakenly formatted (my backup drive -- never would have happened if I didn't think everything was safely backed up: that's how backing up can be dangerous, as you just found out in another way).

I tried LF one time to retrieve some files I had deleted but the results that LF gave back were a confusing jumble that I just didn't want to deal with. It wasn't THAT important.

Really, thanks for sharing the "how" part. It does indeed sound like something only a special person could do <G>.
