Ted -

Lookig at DGN's financials I don't see any improvement in their performance over the last 5 quarters. Sales and margins are flat to down. Is there something in their business that EMC can tap that DGN was not able to?

I agree

Sounds like EMC wants to go head-to-head with independent midrange storage companies like NTAP and with the "private label" offerings of the various PC makers but did not want to pay a huge premium to do so. DGN is also based in Massachusetts, so I imagine that simplifies the logistics of the acquisition.

I don't see how buying DGN helps EMC get into midrange storage business? Anyone have any insight into this?
