By the way, I had to note that in my humble opinion, the movie about which we were arguing is not sordid, but deeply moral and life- affirming. Also, I wanted to ask: does the presence of objectionable elements or even an unhappy ending mean that Sophocles' "Oedipus Rex", Shakespeare's "King Lear", or Dostoyevski's "The Brother's Karamazov" are bad? It seems to me that they are great regardless....
