Tony:

Re: Sanders

I saw the interview, too. As I asked on the AMD thread, did anyone notice that Sanders backed off from his prediction of 1M K7s produced in Q4, to just a cumulative total of 1M in Q4 (i.e. if 200k K7s were made in Q3, ~800k would be made in Q4)?

Also, the AMD thread had a link to Compaq's offer for a home PC (http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/990809/tx_compaq__1.html). Of note is that only a 600 MHz chip is offered, and that systems "will be available within 30 days". So it doesn't appear 650 MHz are available, and no systems are available today from CPQ.

Tony,

How big is PIII/chipsets errata? We can go into "your errata is bigger than my errata" kind of argument, but it would not be very productive. Obviously Athlon/chipset is new and it will take time to shake out the glitches. If there were no glitches and everybody was on board, the AMD stock would be trading in the hundreds and not in the teens.

Kap
