AS, i have to agree with you that bearish sentiment seems a bit excessive right now. however, should the market's character have changed, which is possible due to rising inflationary pressures, the sentiment indicators can cease to work for a while. if the market's primary trend is still intact it should manage a strong bounce from here, with sentiment and other technical indicators screaming oversold. if no strong bounce is forthcoming, we will have confirmation that the medium term trend has changed.
