Shareware Athlon-PC auch mit Linux (ZDNet Deutschland) - Der von ZDNet gestern vorgestellte PC "Athlon 500" des Waiblinger Anbieters Comtech wird auch in einer Tausenderauflage mit dem Betriebssystem Linux statt Windows ausgeliefert. Der Rechner wird zum weltweiten Start des Athlon-Prozessors von AMD ab dem 16. August ausgeliefert. Die Einsteiger-Version des "Athlon 500" ist fr 1799 Mark zu haben. Dafr bekommt der Kunde den Athlon-Chip mit 500 MHz, 64 MByte RAM, eine 6,4-GByte-Festplatte sowie eine AGP-Grafikkarte von ATI mit 8 MByte Speicher. Ebenfalls dabei: eine Terratec-3D-Soundkarte, ein 40fach CD-ROM-Laufwerk, ein Floppydrive sowie eine Win-95-Tastatur. Fr 200 Mark Aufpreis bekommt der K„ufer 128 MByte Speicher, eine 16-MByte-Grafikkarte sowie zehn GByte Festplattenkapazit„t.
