The outsourcing program may be xico's single most saving grace.
"Our outsourcing program continued to gain momentum as we made significant progress in developing additional sources for lower cost wafers during the second quarter with the signing to agreements with Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. in Japan and ZMD GmbH in Germany to fabricate wafers for us. These agreements complement our wafer foundry agreement with Yamaha in Japan and will provide diversified sources of wafers utilizing our proprietary processes."-----from..Xicor Reports Improved Second Quarter Results. July 22, 1999
Back when xico was 14 these oursourcing programs were not in place, leading me to believe xico will be more responsive to their market place when demand really gets rolling.
In the accompanying URL "Chips stocks Prospering Despite Recent Tech selloff" it is anticipated demand will be precipitated by back to school and Christmas season demand for computers. That demand can now be filled by way of the outsourcing agreements. Also demand may be augmented by the very companys helping fill the xico orders. Outsourcing and partnering...expanding the market...making the market.

XICO continues to amaze me! Made no. 5 in valueline August 6, 1999 expanded edition for stocks yielding the best return for the past 13 weeks. Next issue of 8-13-99, it will probably make no. 1 or 2!
Today despite a dull day for Nasdaq, XICO turned around!
