IMF could issue a gold backed bond with and SDR carry rate exchange. Which would make it more liquid then Gold, and more desirable then Dollars.

There is an article by Hanke on the forbes.com site
do a search of Hanke I tried to bring up the article but the system
just hung
he appears to have a simple solution for the debt..something to do
with the "despots" that rule the countries

Your news flash was "alien" ..read some people's commentaries saying the reason why gold rallied was because of announcement that IMF
might not sell gold ROFL
I took this move yesterday as real bullish since it went contrary to negative news..what a joke when I read people reporting that they read the news release from IMF as they probably won't sell gold..

lets see now about devaluation of yuan..(looking for articles along that vein thanks to Hutch..he suggested that it might happen sooner than we all expect
