By the market's reaction to the HWP termination notice it is clear that the market doesn't agree that emc is in the same league as csco. Now I happen to agree that emc should be considered a superstar a la csco but the mutual funds obviously don't quite see it that way. That's reality. I know nothing about dgn but their stock has done nothing in a decade. Looks like a tired over the hill company. Guess emc will dump their leaders at the very least. Hard to believe a storage company could go nowhere in the 90's the decade for storage.

I remember some analyst predicted that emc would spend the remainder of '99 traversing the 50's. It looks like that will turn out to be an amazingly accurate prediction. I think we will retest the low 50's in the next couple of months and hopefully it will hold. I plan on getting in then around 50-51. And then another earnings rally to test the very tough resistance at 67 possibly. The last three months of the year are usually the best so I may just hang on to my emc. This deal is too small to really make much difference to emc either way, I think. EMC is basically going to go along with the market (i.e. msft, csco, lu, etc) for the next few months.

One thing I like about this stock lately is one bit of funky news the stock craps out. Couple months ago some analyst shot his mouth off and the stock had a heart attack.
